There are many ways you can help PHP-FPM!
Development
We'll be happy to accept any patches that go towards any features or bugs. We'll be posting more instructions soon on how to hack on the source code too.
Testing/Reporting Bugs
- Report bugs in the Bug Tracker at Launchpad.
- The project could also use test scripts (using Buildbot or Hudson) to ensure compatibility across different distributions, operating systems or for testing specific features before they are committed. If anyone knows how to create these scripts please bring it up on the mailing list!
Money
Q: Where and how can I send my money (paypal account, bank account, etc.)?
A: Paypal is the best method currently.
Please include the following information:
- If you'd like to be publically credited. If so, what name and link (if applicable) would you like to be on the website under the "Contributors" area.
- If you'd like it to go towards a specific feature.
Q: I want to know what my money goes for, where can I find it out?
A: Hosting is taken care of. The money is recorded and will be used whenever hiring a developer if needed for a specific feature, or help "prioritize" the work with someone who is usually busy with other things :)
Q: I might want to give money for a certain feature, how do I do it?
A: You can do it by sending money through Paypal with a note (as explained above) - or you can always self-fund your own feature by hiring a developer yourself via RentACoder or some other place. Be sure to announce it on the PHP-FPM mailing list to ensure there is nobody else working on the same thing!
Spread The Word!
Spreading the word about the project is how most people discover it. Blog about it, inform people about it, spam your favorite mailing lists when appropriate, shout it out on a rooftop - everything helps.
The following are some subtle ways to help the project gain more exposure. Think of it as indirect advertising. Feel free to add yourself to the Facebook fan page, or join any PHP-FPM groups that spring up. The more people that use it and develop on it, the more successful it will be.
